Instagram has launched a new app that enables users to use their creative skills to combine photos into a single image.
The app, dubbed Layout, automatically shows users previews of custom layouts as they choose photos from their camera roll. Plus, to make it easy to find photos, Layout offers a “Faces” option that shows users all the photos in their camera roll that feature people. Users can also mix up to nine photos at a time to create personalized layouts.
Once photos are uploaded, users have the ability to drag and drop the photos to rearrange them, as well as have the ability to zoom, flip and rotate them. Plus, Layout comes with a Photo Booth feature, which enables users to start a countdown and capture photos that are instantly available to layout in the app.
“From imagining mirrored landscapes to sharing multiple moments from an entire adventure, we’ve seen these kinds of visual storytelling happening on Instagram and we’re inspired by it. With Layout, it’s easier than ever to unlock your creativity — and we can’t wait to see what you’ll make next,” Instagram says in its announcement.
Layout is currently available for iOS devices, and will be available on Android in the coming months.
