In an effort to help local businesses increase their online visibility, Google launched a new platform called “Google My Business.”
This platform brings together all of Google’s services that can help businesses increase their online visibility. For instance, users can leverage the platform to update their business information on Google Search, Maps and Google+, as well as add images or virtual tours to their business listings, share content from their Google+ Page and monitor consumers reviews.
To make it even easier to manage business listings, Google also launched the Google My Business mobile app for Android devices. This app is free to download and offers many of the same features as the Google My Business Web platform. For example, business owners can leverage the app to update their business info while on the go, share updates on Google+ and monitor insights, such as how many times their business shows up in search results. This app should prove to be a handy tool for local businesses, and according to Google, an iOS app will be launching soon.
