Get ready for a whole new YouTube experience on your iPhone.
After Apple announced that the company would dump its original YouTube app (which was created by Apple) from its next operating system, the video-based social network decided to create its own version – and it’s here just in time for the launch of the iPhone 5.
The new app, which is available on iPhone and iPod touch devices, provides users with the ability to watch tens of thousands of videos. Additionally, the app features a channel guide to help users access their subscribed channels quickly, a search bar that features suggestions while you type, as well as an easy way to share videos onto Google+, Twitter, Facebook and within text messages and emails.
The new app is also expected to generate revenue for Google, because it will now be able to feature advertisements before videos are played.
The YouTube app is free and available for download in the App Store. It is also important to note that in a blog post, YouTube claims to be working on an optimized version of the app for the iPad, which should be available in the “coming months”.
