Mobile devices are helpful in many situations, yet they have also created a culture where people are constantly checking their phones.
There is an app, however, that aims to curb the public’s phone addiction – and it goes by the name of Forest. When users open up the app they automatically plant a seed. Then, if users can either stay completely off their phones or just on the Forest app for 30 straight minutes the seed will grow into a fully mature tree. That said, if users exit the Forest app for any reason the tree will wilt and die.
Forest also has a couple of other interesting features, including allowing users to share their progress, aka their “forest” with friends as well as enabling users to track their own history to see progress on breaking their phone reliance. The app is available on both iOS and Android devices.
