Selfie was Oxford Dictionaries’ word of the year in 2013, and it is still trending three years later.
In fact, selfies have become so popular that Microsoft recently launched an iOS app dedicated to them. The app, however, is much more than just a camera with a few photo filters. Rather, Microsoft Selfie enhances self-portraits by taking age, gender, lighting and many other variables into account and applying different models automatically to photos.
It is also important to note that Microsoft Selfie reduces noise in photos. For example, in dim light conditions the app automatically enables “Denoise” mode. What’s more, users can adjust photos after they have been automatically enhanced, as well as can add unique, app-specific filters to their images. Once an image edit is complete, users can easily share the images to Facebook.
