A growing trend these days is the collaboration of software providers to help small businesses move their daily operations onto the Web — or, into the cloud. A perfect example is Intuit’s new partnership with Salesforce that integrates Intuit’s small business accounting software with the automated sales software from Salesforce.
A Web-based application will be sold to users of Intuit’s Quickbooks accounting software through the company’s own app store, providing accounting data through Intuit as well as sales and customer account information
via the Salesforce integration. The summer release will push Salesforce further into the SMB market while helping Intuit reinvent its dated image of a store-bought, cellophanewrapped software dealer — and provide a great tool for small businesses.
